Citizens of Uzbekistan can come to our country without any visa within the scope of visa exemption and can reside within the scope of visa exemption for 30 days. In addition, citizens of Uzbekistan can obtain a short-term residence permit, family residence permit, residence permit for study purposes, long-term residence permit, humanitarian residence permit or residence permit for victims of human trafficking in Turkey if they meet the conditions.

Citizens of Uzbekistan who want to stay in Turkey for more than 30 days must obtain a residence permit. The authority authorized to issue a residence permit is the Immigration Administration, and the person must make an appointment according to the type of residence he or she has.
Foreign nationals of Uzbekistan should pay attention to the following issues when applying for all types of residence:
- The foreigner is required to carry a passport with 60 days more than the expiry date of the residence permit or a valid document instead;
- The foreigner must not exceed the visa or visa exemption period on the residence permit application date;
- The type of residence permit application must be selected in accordance with the purpose of stay;
- The foreigner who applies for a residence permit for the first time must go to his appointment on the specified day and time. Otherwise, his application is cancelled;
- Residence permit extension applications are made via cargo and the person does not have to go to the Immigration Administration in person.
- Residence permit extension applications are active 60 days before the expiry of the foreigner’s residence permit. In any case, it is necessary to apply for an extension before the residence permit expires;
- Residence permit applications are finalized within 90 days at the latest, and the residence permit is sent to the foreigner’s address.
How to Apply for a Residence Permit in Turkey?
Citizens of Uzbekistan who want to reside in Turkey longer than the visa exemption period must apply for one of the following types of residence and obtain a residence permit.
- Short Term Residence Permit
Citizens of Uzbekistan who want to apply for a short-term residence permit must meet one of the conditions stipulated in the Law on Foreigners and International Protection No. 6458. In accordance with the text of the law in question, foreigners who have one of the following conditions can obtain a short-term residence permit.
- Foreigners who own real estate in Turkey;
- Foreigners who want to do scientific research in Turkey;
- Foreigners who will reside in Turkey for tourism purposes;
- Foreigners who will reside in Turkey for the purpose of establishing a commercial connection;
- Foreigners who will participate in the in-service training program;
- Foreigners who come to receive education within the scope of Erasmus, Farabi, Mevlana Education program;
- Foreigners coming for treatment;
- Foreigners who will attend Turkish courses;
- Foreigners who will participate in research, education, internship and courses in Turkey through public institutions;
- Foreigners who graduated from Turkey (applied within 6 months after graduation);
- Family Residence Permit
Citizens of Uzbekistan who marry a citizen of the Republic of Turkey or a foreigner with a residence permit in Turkey can obtain a family residence permit.
- Student Residence Permit
It is a type of residence organized for foreigners who have an associate degree, undergraduate, graduate, doctorate education in our country. After enrolling in a foreign higher education institution of Uzbekistan, a student can apply for a residence permit.
- Long Term Residence Permit
In order to apply for a long-term residence permit, the foreigner of Uzbekistan must have resided in Turkey continuously for at least 8 years. When calculating the duration, half of the residence period of the foreigner as a student is counted. In addition, the foreigner must not have received social assistance in the last 3 years.
Documents Required for Residence Permit for Citizens of Uzbekistan

The residence permit transition application must be made within 10 days from the expiry of the reason for eliminating the old type of residence.
A new reason for residence may arise before the current reason of residence of the foreign national of Uzbekistan disappears. In such cases, the foreigner may continue to reside with the current residence permit or apply for a new residence permit.
